Graduate Speech Pathologist | Paediatrics | Caulfield

Healthcare & Medicine, Speech Therapy

About the Organisation

4 Healthcare Recruitment is partnering with an established multidisciplinary clinic in Caulfield that supports children, young people and their families. The clinic brings together Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists and Psychologists in a collaborative environment with an existing referral base and waitlist.

Neurodiversity-affirming practice is embedded in the clinic’s environment, clinical approach and everyday work with families. The team uses a strengths-based philosophy that listens to neurodivergent voices and focuses on communication, participation, advocacy and regulation.

About the Role This role is designed to give a graduate Speech Pathologist the time, support and clinical exposure needed to build confidence. You will develop a predominantly paediatric caseload in a clinic-based setting, with occasional visits to nearby schools and kinders. You will not be expected to generate your own referrals.

With guidance from experienced clinicians, you may support children and young people across:

  • Speech sound development, fluency and literacy
  • Receptive and expressive language
  • Social communication and interaction
  • Augmentative and alternative communication AAC
  • Functional communication, participation and emotional regulation
  • Communication across home, school and community environments
  • Collaborative goal setting with parents, educators and other clinicians

Benefits

  • A manageable graduate caseload. Low billable hours per day, allowing time to prepare, reflect and deliver thoughtful therapy.
  • Protected admin and development time. Time is built into the week for notes, reports, mentoring, professional development and learning.
  • Structured clinical support. Work alongside experienced clinicians who can provide supervision, mentoring and practical guidance as you transition into practice.
  • Predominantly clinic-based work. Spend more of your day developing as a clinician and less time travelling, with school and kinder visits generally kept local.
  • Genuine neuro-affirming practice. Join a strengths-based team that respects different communication styles and supports meaningful participation.
  • Flexible working hours. Manage your diary with flexibility around how you structure your day and your start and finish times.
  • Multidisciplinary learning. Collaborate with Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists and Psychologists while developing your own professional identity.
  • Room to explore your interests. Build experience across language, speech, social communication, AAC, literacy, feeding or other paediatric areas that interest you.
  • Competitive graduate salary. $80,000-$90,000 + super, depending on relevant experience and clinical capability.

Qualifications and Essentials We would love to hear from you if you:

  • Have completed, or are close to completing, an accredited Speech Pathology qualification
  • Hold or are eligible for practising membership with Speech Pathology Australia
  • Have a genuine interest in paediatrics and neurodiversity-affirming practice
  • Are curious, reflective, open to learning and receptive to supervision
  • Enjoy collaborating with children, families, educators and other clinicians
  • Can demonstrate developing clinical reasoning and professional communication skills
  • Hold unrestricted Australian working rights

New graduates are strongly encouraged to apply. Relevant student placements, allied health assistant experience or paediatric exposure will be valued, but extensive post-graduate experience is not required.
