Speech Pathologist | Part Time | Schools | Paediatrics

Healthcare & Medicine, Speech Therapy

About the Company

4 Healthcare Recruitment is proud to be partnering with a growing allied health organisation that supports NDIS and private clients through a coordinated, person-centred approach.

The organisation brings together speech pathology and other allied health and psychosocial disciplines, with a strong focus on understanding the whole person. Clinicians are encouraged to build genuine relationships with clients and families while bringing their own strengths, ideas and clinical style to their work.

About the Role This is a part-time opportunity for a Speech Pathologist seeking meaningful paediatric work within established school environments. The position will initially offer 2 to 3 days per week, with the possibility of increasing hours as the caseload grows.

The caseload is predominantly primary school-aged children receiving support at school, alongside some clinic-based work and a smaller number of young adults with autism. Funding is approximately 60% NDIS and 40% private, with an expectation of around five clients per day and no billable KPIs.

You will work closely with children, parents, carers and school staff, so confident and thoughtful communication is essential. The organisation is looking for someone proactive who values human connection and wants the freedom to contribute ideas rather than work within rigid clinical parameters.

The office and primary school setting are located close to one another in Melbourne’s north. A driver’s licence is helpful but is not essential for candidates able to work from the office and nearby school.

Benefits to You

  • Flexible part-time schedule of 2 to 3 days per week
  • Potential to increase hours as the caseload develops
  • No billable KPIs and a manageable expectation of around five clients per day
  • Weekly one-to-one supervision with an experienced Speech Pathologist
  • Additional monthly mentoring and accessible day-to-day clinical support
  • Established relationships with local schools
  • Freedom to bring your own ideas, personality and clinical strengths to sessions
  • Opportunity to provide feedback and influence how clients are supported
  • Supportive environment for both new graduates and experienced clinicians

What You’ll Need

  • Tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology or an equivalent recognised qualification
  • Current membership or eligibility for membership with Speech Pathology Australia
  • Current Working with Children Check, or willingness to obtain one
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with children, families and school staff
  • Confident communication with parents and carers
  • A proactive, flexible and collaborative approach
  • New graduates and experienced Speech Pathologists are encouraged to apply
